Heritage Architecture & Conservation
At CGBC, we have decades of experience in conservating heritage architecture, assessing significance, preserving heritage changes, and the readapting heritage buildings to promote a Malaysian cultural identity and social cohesion. Our aim is to preserve buildings and places ensuring long-term performance, while retaining its cultural significance and value with maintenance management programs and a positive socio-environmental impact to the community and the next generation.
In the process of becoming a developed nation, it is critically important for Malaysia to preserve its heritage and cultural assets to maintain our unique identity, providing future generations with a connection to their past. CGBC has been majorly involved in the conservation of heritage projects, and protected sites, including the inscription of Malaysia’s two latest UNESCO sites in 2024 and 2025.
Engineering & Structural Conservation
Owing to our years of forensic engineering and structural conservation experience, we have made contributions in the construction industry in many ways. Structural conservation is important because it safeguards the history and cultural identity of the place. Respecting the culturally significant structure with careful repair and maintenance techniques in order to prolong its life and stability is a key factor of environmental sustainability. We have assisted many asset owners and managers by identifying the root cause of damages and defects in their cultural and modern assets, providing solutions for significant transformational improvements and to retain its heritage value.
We provide consultancy services in practical asset management, asset condition inspection, and periodic building inspection in compliance with the Street, Drainage and Building Act; supporting government agencies, laboratories, developers, contractors, conservators and Managing Agent of Facility Management companies.
