Istana Bandar
Heritage Site
Built in 1899 by the fifth Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Alaeddin Sulaiman Shah, this historic residence served as his home for many years until his passing in 1938. The palace features a predominantly Islamic architectural style influenced by Indian and Middle Eastern traditions, complemented by subtle Chinese and colonial design elements. Constructed using bricks, lime mortar, and high-quality Cengal timber and marble, the building was masterfully crafted by Chinese workers recruited from nearby mining communities.
