Penang City Hall

The City Hall of George Town, Penang, is a prominent colonial-era architectural landmark situated along Jalan Padang Kota Lama. Built in 1903 and officially opened in 1906, it is recognized as one of the first buildings in the city to feature fully installed electric lighting and ceiling fans. Today, it forms part of the greater George Town UNESCO World Heritage Site, inscribed in 2008 under criteria (ii), (iii), and (iv). The heritage building will be undergoing a conservation phase soon and is currently in the process of the preparation of tender documentation.
