River of Life
Heritage Quarters

In 2017, Kuala Lumpur’s River of Life (ROL) Project, specifically the Early Works Package for Precinct 7, received the Award of Excellence at the IFLA Asia-Pacific Landscape Architecture Awards held in Bangkok, Thailand, on November 4, 2017. The award, presented to AECOM, acknowledged the project’s outstanding contribution to the revitalization of the Klang and Gombak Rivers and its role in transforming the city’s historic Heritage Quarter into a more vibrant, livable, and sustainable urban environment.

The recognition underscored ROL’s success in combining environmental restoration, urban design, and cultural preservation to enhance the quality of public spaces in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
